Concrete Contractors Near Washington, DC

More Pros in in Washington, DC

If you’ve ever visited Washington DC, or you’re a local, then you’re probably familiar with the William Howard Taft Bridge. Located in the Northwest quadrant of the city, the bridge is a historic landmark. Washington DC concrete companies built the Classical Revival bridge between 1897 and 1907, and it was designed by George S. Morison and Edward Pearce Casey. The arch bridge is unique because Washington concrete contractors built it with unreinforced concrete arches, making the 901-foot bridge the largest unreinforced concrete structure in the world. Originally named the Connecticut Avenue Bridge, it was renamed the Taft bridge in 1931 in honor of President Taft.
