WHAT MY NETWORX CONTRACTOR DID FOR ME: Cleared a bathtub drain clog.
WHY I CHOSE HIM: Quick response, good online reviews.
Our bathtub drain had been running slow for a while. When it finally stopped running completely, I tried to remove the clog with a commercial drain cleaning solution, but there was no way that blockage would budge. The drain actually completely stopped moving, so we had standing water in the tub for a day.
By about 9:00 at night, after trying to unclog my tub all day, I finally gave up and went online to look for a plumber near me. When I found Networx and submitted my request for a free estimate, I was actually really impressed with the response time. Someone from Networx called me back within 5 minutes and transferred me right over to Hydro-Flow Sewer and Drain LLC. The contractor offered to come over that same night, but since it wasn’t an emergency, I just asked him him come the next day. After I talked to the person from Hydro-Flow, I went online and made sure that they had good reviews, which gave me confidence to go right ahead with hiring them.
The following day, a gentleman named Alex showed up -- exactly on time, used a drain snake to unclog the tub in a matter of minutes, and gave us great service.
The main cause of the blockage turned out to be dental floss in our drain. I don’t know how that got there! My family’s lived in this house for 40 years, so I can’t blame it on a previous owner; maybe one of my cousin’s small children was playing around. However, we did have the drain replaced about 5 years ago by Roto-Rooter, and it’s been running slow ever since. Although the big wad that Alex pulled out looked an awful lot like dental floss, I wonder if it might have been leftover Teflon tape that somehow got down the drain. The important thing is that he got it cleared out very quickly.
Now the drain’s running more smoothly than ever. In fact, I can’t even remember when the water’s run this fast. Alex was an excellent contractor; he was polite and understanding and even put shoe covers on before he got on our porch. He was really on the ball. I would highly recommend Hydro-Flow to other homeowners.
If you’re looking for a contractor, my advice is to ask a lot of questions. Often when you call, contractors act like they don’t have any time for you. In my experience, though, the good contractors are happy to explain their work and they’re available to answer questions when you have them. They treat you like a valued customer, like you’re important and your time is as valuable as theirs. That’s the best method I’ve found.
