Work Description: replace an inlet valve on my gas boiler.
A simple plumbing task. Remove the old valve; install a new one.
Someone then showed up within the next hour.
the contactor then changed the valve although he didn't ask whether I preferred a valve that was soldered on versus the type that just fits in and stays with compression. The latter valve is more expensive and the contractor should have asked my preference.
Also, he tried to tell me that another valve was suspect -- but I knew which valve was the issue so I talked him out of changing the scope of my request.
The fitted valve is not as sturdy as a soldered valve would have been but this was the third plumber that I had look at the boiler and actually do what I was requesting so I was glad to just get something done finally.
