Comments: My first comment is “Jose Velarde and his team are simply fantastic”.We had an addition put onto our house and several huge trees had to be removed to accommodate the addition. The largest required the root ball to be dug down over 10 feet which did a tremendous amount of damage to the backyard. Additionally, during the excavation and construction the backyard suffered more damage and allowed crab grass and other weeds to grow everywhere.
We considered trying to repair the lawn, regrade and reseed it, but that looked sort of hopeless; so we decided to sod not only the backyard but also the front and sides as they looked pretty bad as well.
I found 5 contractors that would do the work; only 3 responded to my telephone calls.
Each of the 3 contractors came to the house, measured the lawn and came with bids including the amount of sod, top soil, lime and fertilizer.
Jose’s bid was by far the best. The most total area, most sod, and top soil.
When the work started and until the work was completed Jose took an everyday personal interest that the work was being done in a professional way, and it was! He told us how often to water, what to look for if a sprinkler head didn’t fully cover an area and more, MUCH more.
We now have a growing beautiful new lawn with sod from Reid’s sod farm in Freehold and we couldn’t be happier.
I trusted Jose with the work and he and his crew outperformed at every level and detail.
We look forward to next year when we want to redo some front landscaping and we will call Jose first thing to do that work for us again.
