Work Description: Chimney repair & roof replacement
Comments: We bought an older log home that had been neglected for a long time. Originally wed planned on just repairing the chimney; a new liner in one half, new crown, cap, repointing and new flashing. Unfortunately there was any damage around the base of the chimney, as well as the underlying wood for the roof, and the insulation, so a full roof replacement was necessary along with the chimney repairs (which also turned out to be extensive). Although it was much more money than we'd planned, John was kind enough to cut me some deals on the repairs to keep things manageable, and he and his crew came out every day the weather would allow and finished the job in about a week total. The crew was respectful and hard working, and the work is professional. Our house is now dry, safe and bug free. If we need more work on the house, we'll call these guys again. Work Description: Chimney sweep
Comments: One word: terrible. Starting with scheduling. On the phone promised 9 AM the next day and did not show up. Called him about 10:30 and he claimed that I misunderstood and he meant 2:30 PM. Bullshit, both I and my son heard 9 loud and clear. No show at 2:30 either. Called again her did not know what's going on, but he called me back to say that his employee got lost and now is to late to come to my house. Promised "to come first thing next morning. Next morning a young guy shows up an about 10 AM and tells me that he comes to "inspect" the stove and the chimney, not to solve the issue. Came totally unprepared and told me that he doesn't have the tools with him. He did not even have a vacuum cleaner. He took off the pipe and cleaned it, which did not solve the problem. As he did not have the tools, that's all he could do. He also gave me a totally bullshit diagnostics of the issue saying the air intake of the stove is blocked. The next day called the stove store and they told me how to check the air intake -- just remove two screws and take a look. It was totally clean. Anyway paid him whatever we agreed on the phone and he left. Today I got another guy who had the tools and knew how to sweep a chimney. Solved the problem in less than an hour and BTW for $25 less then the first guy.My advice: avoid USA building Construction, at least when chimney problems are involved.

Work Description: Repair/Rebuild of Chimney above the roof.
Comments: The crew worked hard and set up to protect my metal roof. The old chimney was taken down carefully. The new chimney was built slowly (3 stages) allowing the concrete to set fully overnight in the three stages.The new chimney is also an improved design (stronger and easier to clean).
The did a great job cleaning up and washing down the roof and the entire crew was polite and courteous throughout the process.

Comments: Scheduled to have my chimney cleaned on a Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Nobody showed up, I finally called John at USA Building Construction and he said they had a problem / accident / car trouble.Okay, let’s reschedule for Friday at 1:00. NO SHOW on a Friday too and never called. Piss poor way to run a business.

Comments: They do quality work. The are knowledgeable craftsman and use high quality materials. The work steadily, long hours and 6 days a week as necessary. They clean up after each day and thoroughly at the end of job. My only concerns were language, as most spoke only Spanish and frequent requests for payments to order materials. Work Description: Incomplete, Never returned to finish the job
Comments: They left with the payment after putting a liner in my chimney, never cleaned out the bottom, Kept calling to ask them to come back to finish the job, they kept apologizing and scheduling dates and times, but never showed up or called me back. I am still trying to get in touch with them to get a refund, or at least a partial refund as we had to call someone else to come finish the job this company got paid to do.-
