Comments: I had 3 plumbing emergencies during the years and TPS answered my calls even on weekends. They gave me rushed appointments and in all three occasions solved the problem on the same day. Once was a leaking toilet, then a leaking pipe, then a shower valve that wouldn’t shut off. Lewis was excellent at diagnosing the problem and then gave me different price options to solve it. The jobs also offered guarantee. I left Lewis alone working in my property during the third job, he is trustworthy and he left the place cleaner after fixing the problem.Providence RI

After calling 6 different companies to come out to help me with my sewage backup in my house I was finally able to get tps plumbing out who I will definitely recommend to my friends and family because they unclog the drain line and was able to remove all the waste water and poop from my house and had the area in my lower level smelling super good 👌 👍. Comments: Very poor experience with company. I am not the first to have a similar issue. First, the plumber that responds goes by Lewis/Mathew. He arrived and quoted 3 different prices to attempt to clear my main sewer lines while waste water and feces were backing up into the home that I had just bought and moved into only 6 days prior. I simply asked him to go with the method that he believed would get it fixed. He said I needed to chose one of the options. Option 1. Snake the Drain $855 Option 2. Camera the pipe over $400 3. Hydrojet $1575. Naturally I opted for the lowest price option. He tried that for a bit and was not successful. He then asked if he could try the hydrojet. Basement still backed up I had no other choice but to have him try something else. I asked why it would cost so much he explained he does not set the prices( this is false as Lewis does in fact set the prices as his wife has the business in her name while Lewis is the sole plumber for company). I found this out later.He tried hydrojetting and was not successful at removing the blockage, his report indicated a 98% block in the mainline. So after approx 3 hours of being on site he hit us with a total charge of $2700 that included Hydrojetting and snaking the line. I immediately said this is absurd and he apologized and said he wishes it was less but he didn't set the prices(not true). I asked why I am being charge for both methods when this was a labor only job that he was unsuccessful at? He said it wasn't his choice and that they charge for each different technique.
I called in a couple days later to speak to a leader at the company that can explain and right the wrong of being charged over $2600 for 3 hours of work that was not successful.
The person I talked to named "Chris" I though was actually LEwis because of how much he knew about the job. AFter relentless back and forth and being called a liar multiple times he agreed to have his manager issue a partial refun of about $400. I was not happy and felt this was not adequate. After a month and a half and countless call I never received the refund. Numerous calls and was told numerous excuses that include the owner is on vacation, away, and that they sent the check, and that someone would drop it off to me , then they said they cancelled the check and would reissue. All false. Nothing was being done. Every time I called "Chris" answered who I believe to be "Matt" the technician who is actually Lewis. After contacting the state licensing board i was made aware the he has had previous defunct plumbing companies and the owner of this company is the technicians wife. Previous company is Matthews Plumbing Services LLC. TPS plumbing was also formerly known as "The Permanent Solution". I am unable to find a plumbers license on file with the State of Rhode Island either or insurance on the company. Once I was unable to get a solution with Lewis or Chris I contacted the owner directly. I explained her husband performed work and had agreed to refund me because he did not fix problem and took advantage of a situation for financial gain. Within 24 hours she provided me with a very low ball partial refund despite my initial ask to only be charged a reasonable rate for the unsuccessful 3 hours he spent at my house. This occurred after 1 and a half months and only once I told Lewis I would be calling the BBB and licensing board as well as contact the "owner" directly.
There is another review posted with a similar experience. Beware. I would stay clear. I had to hire another company to clear the block that TPS was unable to clear.
