When first agreed on doing floor job, he wanted regular refinish of floors, sanding and re-poly finish. He was told in clear details that this would take three to four days, depending on how the finish poly dried and cured, and that it may take another coat, but would not know until dry. Then day before start he decides that he wants it also stained, and he was told that this would take an additional day, so it will take 4 to 5 days, depending on final finish results and if it may need another coat. Note, normally when we stain, we include repainting baseboard, but short notice it was not included. The day we started, at near end of day, he tells us that it must be completed in two days because they now have surprised guest coming. So he expects us to take a 4-5 day job and get done in 3, oh and to had to complications, informed that his wife does not want us there past 5pm. We worked as quickly and hard to complete in this shortened time and in result, not able to see if another finish coat is needed since we don't have the time frame to see it properly dry, nor can we do anything else while floor is wet. So all his complaints are on him, not us. We were being rushed, additional surprised work to be included and no proper time for products to completely dry and cure to see. Any and all touch ups and cleaning was taken away due to short time frame. Now I advised him on what to do since he asked how he can take care of these simple things he was concerned about. As for spots, that happens and we normally would have applied an additional coat, for each floor react different with two coats and we solve that with a third, this happens about 45% of the time and we normally automatically do this. But cant be done in shorten time frame that they made this impossible for us. One can only rush a completion so much. Can not make a floor poly dry and cure any faster to see where it stands on finish.

The only paint on any concrete patio was there long before we started the job, and baked in to be impossible to remove without damage. This is the same homeowner, who has dog shit literally every where around the house. Dog shit pile was in every three square feet. Requested removal, never happened. As for paint, he was told and recommended not to use deep dark brown on the body of house , only the trim, which was the original plan. He instead went with dark color. We used vinyl protection paint, but it still got extremely hot. The vinyl siding was not properly installed and didn't allow it to properly move. The siding was nailed tightly and when hot, it was unable to expand, with still 1/2 inch from J channel when hot, therefore it buckled. His insurance denied the claim because of faulty installation of siding period. We did not install siding, only painted it with proper paint made for it. We are not responsible for failed siding installation and therefore will not remove and install new siding. I do understand him being upset with the failed siding, but anger is directed at the wrong business, that should be squarely placed on the contractor that did the vinyl siding installation, as per his home owners insurance company also blames

And yet we called as per our notes stated. We called on May 15th at 11:05 am to make arrangement to verify and permission to do estimate on property. No return call ever. They requested and we received this request at 8:40pm May 14th and I do not make calls at that time since we stop calling customers after 7:30pm unless permission to do so. This is out of respect for customers that wish to spend time with their families and not business. If you wish to have an estimate, then I suggest that you return the call and talk or leave a message as we did as to what time is good to call or leave details so we can perform a free estimate.

They were clearly notified that we would do the minor flaws in the wall before second coat, due to forgetting to grab sand paper that morning. Those flaws in the walls were done by someone else long ago and we had no problem in fixing them. Second of all I never stated to them that they would be done the next day, the crew may have been optimistic that they may get it done by early afternoon, but that has nothing to do with the fact we would take as long as needed to do the job properly and in a timely manner. They also didn't figure out that the crew were working ten hour days as usual and they are professionals, therefore efficient and quick at what they do, unlike the home owner who claims it takes them a whole week to do a few rooms, verses our experience that would take us a day. We charge based on room size and what is entailed, and was quoted and guaranteed at that agreed price. They then on the next morning after the crew is there, at 7:30 am decided they are not letting them in to continue and hold their tools hostage until they decide to have the crew waste three days to Monday to start again. We already had a second crew to come in that Saturday, to finish up or if need be on Monday. This customer must think we have high school kids working, verses 20 year experienced professionals doing this job and are upset because we are getting the job done as stated and in a efficient time frame, instead of dragging a job out over a week or more??? They wanted to attempt to scam us by complaining on made up simpleton things, easily solved to try to get us to lower the price. Negotiations are done before work is started and agreed to, not during or after complete. These people have no clue on how real profession contractors work, since they are rental people who used to do all the work themselves and are more accustom to things going much slower to completion. For some unknown reason they were shocked that a crew can get four small room first coated in a ten hour day for some unknown reason. This owners great experience in painting as he claimed was a summer job painting 40 years ago during college summer days. We do this for a living

My timing to do work was off because other customers had added additional work due to our quality of work performance as was Mr Barnes satisfied with work and will be doing more for him in the near future.

Roy's painting is a subsidiary of GTM&CO;. Glen is one of the owners of GTM&CO;. First to ever hear that Glen is coarse or crass. Most if not all customers seem to enjoy his laid back style. However, he is extremely busy and when the customer goes to refuse correct information and proper guidance, he does get frustrated, when he actually only has the customers best interest. From notes written from him and employee's, it had appear that customer at times didn't like the correct answer and proper application of material. So if he was a bit short on conversation, just means customer at the time refuses proper application of materials and does not have time nor wants to argue with customer, he just answer with finality and moves on.
