Comments: Below Is a complaint I sent to the BBB to assist is resolving the issue described regarding John Reel and associated business. There was no response to the BBB. The HOA who issued the citation also made attempts to contact John Reel or his business to resolve the issue. There was no response to the HOA.To the BBB:
I hired John to remove a couple of trees and stumps at the beginning of this February.
I live in a gated HOA community with strict security access and HOA rules. I approved access for John Reel Contractors and informed security multiple vehicles would need passes over several days. One vehicle was driven by Person A who towed a trailer with needed equipment onto my property. I also witnessed Person A performing work also did on my property. Leaving one day, Person A was ticketed by our security for doing 45 in a 25 speed zone. I received a notice from my HOA that the fine was added to my association account per the HOA rules. I brought that letter to John and Person A and both guaranteed me the fine would be paid.
To date, it has not been paid and per HOA rules, another monetary fine has been assessed, and notification that all my privileges at the association will be suspended including the ability to access my house with in 30 days.
John has stated that Person A is not his employee and he is not responsible or liable for Person A’s behavior and as such will not cover the fine. John is aware of the impact to me if this fine is not paid.
Person A has also been sent copies of the attached letters from Holly Lake Ranch. He also refuses to pay the fine.
Holly Lake Security confirmed that Person A used the access granted to John Reel Contractors and Tree Services LLC to obtain a pass for entry. He did not gain access by representing himself. Security has video footage of both John and Person A in separate trucks at the security gate, both towing an equipment trailer. Video also includes footage of the security stop resulting in citation #9786.
