Comments: To be fair i did get a lot of asphalt. If i had not been there i would not have as much. time will tell how well it holds up. they have a all- thread probe they manually insert in the unpacked asphalt to ensure proper depth. It was short by a 1/2 inch and i pulled out my measuring tape and measured it and then they adjusted it to the thickness i was paying for. the edge of the paving was not set with a string line there for they were not straight. they did not start until almost three in the afternoon and worked until 9;30 paving. the last 150 feet finished in the dark with only the light on the machine is the least straightest with portions of the drive varying in and out up to almost 12 inched in one spot. Then there is the finish. It is not smooth but very rough. In some areas but not all areas it is almost a gravel texture. I requested and there proposal said they would seal coat the surface. In my opinion this was not done. In order to try to keep the surface of the asphalt to stay as cool as possible i asked for a concrete color instead of the dark black color. they spread portland cement over the top and broom brushed it in and said this is the seal coat. From what i have read this is not a true seal coat and it did not give a smooth coat. I refused to pay as they said during the sales pitch i did not have to pay them until i was 100 percent satisfied. they lowered their price and i released their money. they were 15 and 20 % lower than the other quotes i had previously received. This is not to say that the other contractors would or would not have done a better job. I would suggest for anyone looking to have any type of construction work done at their residence to do this. Review the contract and then write on the contract in detail what you expect the end result to be. In my case it would have been to use a string line for straight edges for a more professional and ascetic look. Spell out what I expect in the finish produce. I would have specified that the asphalt is to be seal coated in such a way to give a smooth surface and then and only then add the Portland cement for the color i desired. Looking at the finish product i would have specified two coats of cement if that is what it takes for a consistent color instead of the blotchy color i now have. I would have also have added that all work has to be finished for the day before sunset in order for all to see what they are doing.Joshua TX

Comments: I talked to John Price’s personnel in The metroplex area and this person sent a person on over to my place and put some chip seal down and did no t finish as I was no t home and when I got home, I called and ask why he did not finish the job and he hung up on me after he got real rude and told me that he was going to carve me another $500.00 I would never use him again and by the way we discussed that he would do the job for $3000.00 and I paid that and made the check out to whom they told me to. I have a receipt, but I have never been treated so bad. Probably because I am an old woman and he sounded young on the phone.Venus TX

Work Description: Multiple parking lot asphalt patches.
Comments: Mr. Prices called with a quote and after requesting a paper quote he submitted the next day. After accepting his proposal he called wanting to come a day early. He did and once there the crew was very polite and respective of the church property, performed the work professionally and expediently and left with our parking lot cleaner than when they arrived. I would readily use them again.Burleson TX
Work Description: Workers laid a nice 180' asphalt driveway over top of my old asphalt driveway after doing some minor grading (in order to make my swinging gate clear without touching ground), cleaning the driveway and spraying a bonding oil over top of it.. At a point 15-20 feet from the gate, the paving machine seemed to swerve to the north and then back leaving an obvious bend in the driveway. It took the crew 4 hrs 15 min to do the entire job.
Comments: I called the paving company owner (who sold the job) about correcting the curve. It was clear he didn't want to come out and look for himself and he did everything in his power to convince me that the driveway would be in worse shape if they corrected it than if left alone. He tried to convince me that the crew had made the driveway wider than the 12' in order to have pavement "pole to pole" (14') at my gate. I sent him photos clearing showing the issue. He tried to ridicule me by saying that I should have driven the paving machine. He even threatened to come out and tear up the entire driveway. Never once did he ask me what I wanted as a solution or what would make me happy. He did send the crew foreman out, who was very polite and considerate. The foreman and I quickly reached an amicable solution of adding about 20 square feet of asphalt to the inside of the curve to straighten it out, which took the foreman about 45 minutes to complete by himself. In my opinion, the owner needs to take customer relations lessons from his foreman.-
