Comments: We had sagging floor from water damage in our kitchen, they came in and tore out the damaged floor and replaced it along with repainting our cabinets, put new drywall, up and installed new vinyl flooring, tore our old countertops, for new to be installed. A total kitchen remodel, we are happy and have received lots of compliments. I want to add they stand behind their work as I had an issue with the flooring and when I called Mason, he sent someone out to fix the issue right away. Great work!

Comments: Contacted Mason and he showed up within a few hours. He surveyed the condo, and told us what needed to be done and the cost. He said the job would take 4 or 5 days. The condo is in Myrtle Beach and we live in Asheville, a 6 hour drive away. He had a manager on site who did not comply with Mason's assurance that we would get videos and photos almost daily of the progress. The "supervisor" wasn't aware of the copious list of items that Mason was supposed to have written down. We came back after a couple of weeks to check on the apartment and it was a total mess! His workers have no respect for anyone else's things, and the quality of work was at the lowest level imaginable. Everything that went wrong was always someone else's fault, and we have no idea how he knew that, because he was NEVER there. I ended up visiting 3 times after I had been told the work would be finished each time and it was in worse shape. The installation of the sink was atrocious...they used the fridge for their purposes and the toilet wasn't cleaned by them even though they had used them as needed. Service station bathrooms were immaculate by comparison. We paid him more than 3/4 of the money and now it will be a greater cost to repair and finish the work which will be more than Mason's initial quote. DO NOT use this guy...he is a con man!! I can't believe he has some good reviews. The only thing I can think of is that those people who gave him a decent review had minor jobs done. Before any other projects started, ask him for his license and insurance and then run away as fast as you can and use someone else who is competent and doesn't have loads of bad reports on BBB.

Comments: Pay this company to remove debris out the crawlspace and to do a vapor barrier they did not remove the debris. They only put the vapor barrier over existing debris when I called them out on it. They said they would come back out and debris is still there.
We came back and removed trash as askes you left a 5 star review then come Back leave a 1 We told you that insualtion meeded be changed fallign insualtion on plastic after we installed doesnt fall on us ! You paid the bare minimum on options

Comments: I don't even know where to begin! Mason Powell, who is registered as True Value Home Solutions, LLC, sent another contractor to do the work, after advising me he was doing the work himself. His contractor blatantly lied to me about various things, but most disturbingly, he lied to me about having done the tile under my refrigerator, as he was supposed to do. He literally tried to hide the fact it was not done by throwing shoe molding down the sides of my refrigerator and then had the audacity to tell me "oh I forgot to do it." Further, I paid for materials based on the contractor's representations of what the totals came to at Floors & Decor, but when I requested receipts, the receipts did not match the amounts I had paid. I had to ask for my receipts for more than a full day after the job was completed. When I finally received them I discovered why they didn't want to send them to me. I was lied to about my material costs and the contractor pocketed $100.00 on that. The entire experience was just an absolute nightmare with both Mason Powell and his pathologically lying contractor. I have had a lot of contractors in the past, by this was by far the most incredibly unprofessional experience I have ever had. When I texted Mason regarding various concerns about the job while it was being done, he ignored my text for hours, and then responded by asking for more money. Whole thing was unbelievable. In the end, I refused to pay him the contracted price and he knew I wasn't wrong for it. Don't waste your money on this unprofessional service. He also sent me pictures that did not represent work done by the contractor he sent to my house. The guys is a fraud and he is not licensed to be working in Virginia.
First of all ! You didnt ask us to lay shoe molding you asked us to install tile. Second of all we installed the shoe molding 3rd of all i never lied to you one time ! 4th. You didnt pay 1500 of the bill

Comments: Wish there was an option for no stars. Absolutely terrible experience. Nothing went well. Mason doesn’t know what he’s doing &/or is completely dishonest. All work needed to be redone, all materials repurchased (thousands in tile and paint). His first crew plumbed incorrectly, framed incorrectly, tile, grout, trim, you name it —NOTHING was right. He said the job would take a week, which we knew was not possible, but weren’t in a hurry so speed wasn’t important. Instead of 1 week, it took him over 3 months & the job is still not done. They ruined everything they touched. Carpets, hardwoods, and furniture all got paint on them —& entire house COVERED in sheet rock dust (despite my constant requests to cover/seal off/tape off etc.) Mason sent subs he had no experience using. He did zero work himself & provided zero oversight on the job. It was quickly clear that his crew didn’t know what they were doing. When I asked him to get out here and fix it, he ghosted all calls & texts. His subs would ask us for money because he wasn’t paying them or responding to their calls or texts either. Mason kept insuring us that he was just having bad luck with his regular guys & for us to give him a chance to make it right. All pure BS. He has costs us so much time & money. We will be taking legal action.
Unfortunately people can write whay they want i re did all work and completed more work that was paod for ! Sorry we didnt wanna go ulstairs ans do a bathroom job thats 10-12k labor job for. 6k and now that another company is making you pay for that

Everyone at true value was pleasant and professional and mason answered any questions I had. My initial call was returned within a day, estimate within a week and job set up within about 2 weeks. Then imagine my shock when it was finished in a day and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this company for the quality of their work, attention to safety procedures, and their professionalism and will make sure to use them for any projects I have in the future!

He came in with his Professional Team and they got right to it. He gave me a dead like and was done one week early which worked for me. The work and the upgrades were exactly what I imagined. I didn't have to clean up behind any of them He personally seen to it that my Home was left in perfect working order. Six months after he was done he even called to make sure I was satisfied. I will happily hand out his Business card to any one needing any type of Remodels or Repairs. I don't know what I would have done if I went with anyone else.

Comments: "Terrible experience" doesn't begin to explain it. We contacted Mason from True Value Home Solutions to level the floor of our newly acquired beach home. The house needed a lot of work and he offered to handle the lion's share for us. He hired him to level the house, replace subfloor, add two bathrooms and combine two smaller rooms into one larger room. This was a lot a of work, but he said he could get it done in two weeks. We thought that seemed nearly impossible, but we weren't really in a hurry, so if it took three or four weeks, no problem. Well, in spite of constant assurances that he could complete the job in the committed time - NOTHING was complete except (arguably because we never got pictures/proof of the work completed) the addition of a couple jacks under the house. The bathrooms were both a shambles and improperly installed. Drywall was hung before the tub and shower surrounds were hung (need to be attached to the studs - the box even explains this). No insulation was hung behind the drywall to exterior walls. Plumbing placement didn't account for ANY of the fixtures. On and on... The subfloor still had gaping holes in it, electrical hanging everywhere, AND - the main septic line had been disconnected laying open under the house.
To their credit, when we brought this to the attention of Mason's foreman, Frank's, he seemed embarrassed and promised to fix things. That was on July 1st. They brought in some guys to do some work that weekend and we thought we were back on track. We paid a portion of the bid to keep their guys paid and to show good faith, but immediately after - ALL WORK STOPPED. We explained the importance of them completing their committed work by the 3rd of August... more promises, more let downs.
They assured us that they would resume work on the 31st of July (a month after our last promise!), and we attempted to meet with them at the site. To our surprise, there was a small crew there that morning, but as soon as we arrived, 3 of the 4 loaded up into Mason's truck without so much as a "hello" and left the job site. Later that day I received a text from Frank asking to add another 1500 to the bid to keep working, but before we could discuss the additional $$, Mason had the remainder of the crew pack up, presumably quitting. No work from Mason or Frank. Just quit - we sent a text firing them immediately after to ensure there was no further confusion. We paid $18,500 and have to redo nearly everything but some subfloor they laid down.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS - These are con artists, in my opinion.

He says he had no have money to pay his staff even though he dose’s not send workers the know what they are doing. I had enough when the painter did not prepare the cabinets. He just painted them and Mason was asking for another $5000 above the quote to finish the work. I set a deadline for him to send qualified workers to my home, They did not come. Mason sent a text to find someone else. I did. The painting and the flooring was done wrong and had to be done over. I was grifted out of $11800. DO NOT USE this company. For me it was not True Value, Even the name is a lie.

Comments: Believe all the one-star reviews. I needed someone to paint my house. Mason Powell lied about his experience. He said he had painted plenty of houses bigger than my two-story house. He didn’t have a clue of how to paint my house. He didn’t even know how to pressure wash my house nor did he have the equipment to pressure wash a house. He didn’t even have ladders. He came with a crew of three including himself who were even more clueless than he was. I loaned them my pressure washer. They didn’t even know how to start it. They spent two days setting up scaffolding they rented because they didn’t know how to reach the second story, and after two days nothing was painted and the house was even not prepared to paint. I fired them after two days, and count my blessings that they didn’t screw something up that would have cost me a lot of time and money before I figured out how incompetent he was and the people he hires are. Mason is a pretender and will say anything to get a job. Believe nothing he says because he will just make it up.
I hired him based on his comment that “I don’t pay him until I am satisfied with the job.” How could I lose I thought? They drove me crazy hovering around this clown car of a crew because they were so incompetent. I bought a thousand dollars-worth of paint but was scared to leave them alone for one minute. Mason basically just watched as the painter he hired worked like hell setting up and taking down scaffolding trying to figure out what to do. I feared they would get hurt also. I paid them $500 just to go away.

Mason came out told me that I needed to encapsulate my crawl space and remove all the insulation
After doing that they sprayed for mold and mildew
And sealed my space it looked amazing
The best part is he didn’t ask for money upfront I was totally happy with the results 5 star company .
Can’t speak for the other reviews but can say don’t judge a book by its cover . There’s always 3 sides to a story there’s his and the truth !!!!!!

No ,nothing finished,paint runs ,lite spots,paint over spray,paint wasted ,paint spilled all over 100 year old hardwood floor. Took me 54+ hours to clean paint ,fixtures painted,wall left undone outside,repair outside had nails half way in and bent over. Who does that?. Floor not even started. I had to tell them to leave. $11,000 dollars up in smoke. Worst job ever,should be ashamed . This group used my own tools,took my hammer, I had to do all the clean up. I can't even explain how stressful and had job this group did. You have to live with yourself Mason powell,Jeff,Kenneth.
