Comments: I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT HIRE THIS CONTRACTOR. I hired him to replace a wooden fence with vinyl and the project was nothing short of a disaster. Orville and his team installed the vinyl fence crooked and incorrectly, creating uneven terrain where there the old fence used to sit straight and flat against the ground. As the project progressed, Orville became more and more challenging to get ahold of, frequently no-call/no-showing, and getting more and more careless when it came to correcting issues. After the initial installation, the gates did not close properly. This was brought to Orville's attention numerous times over several months but it would take multiple calls in order to get him to come back to address the issue. However, when he did, he would simply drill more holes in the vinyl to move or replace the latches, leaving erroneous, unsightly holes in the vinyl fence. Even then, the solution was only temporary.

Orville and his team also carelessly left trash and giant blocks of concrete and sawed off metal poles sitting in the backyard and would not respond when I asked him to remove them. He also did a botch-job with installing lattice on the deck since he did not cut the pieces to size. When they popped out, he merely took a 2-by-4 that he found under the deck and nailed it to the back of the ill-fitting lattice to hold it in place. It looked horrible.

It got to the point where calling Orville to correct the issues, with the gates or otherwise, was just making the problems worse. My dad and I spent last summer recutting and installing the lattice and adjusting and readjusting the gate hinges to get the gates to close correctly but even this did not fix the issue in the long run.

I recently had several fence contractors come out to give me estimates for the cost to fix Orville's work. All three fencing companies have stated that Orville installed the fence so poorly that the only solution would be to fully tear down the fence and gate and reinstall correctly since he did not even connect the fence panels to each other as they should have been. Several of the fencing companies actually laughed and took photos of the fence to show their colleagues because they could not believe the poor workmanship of the installation. I am getting estimates between $2,700 and $6,000 to fix Orville's work, which was only completed 18 months ago. I attempted to reach out to Orville to diplomatically resolve the issue but he continues to show no interest or take pride in his work.

Hiring Orville was the biggest mistake I have made as a homeowner to date.
I have installed your fence two years ago I give you one year warranty on the fence we never have any problem over the one year why after the warranty finish you calling me about fence if you didn’t like the job why did you pay for it I didn’t get pay until the job finish so how is a problem now

Comments: Mr. Turnbull was very polite and professional. He reached out to me to see if anyone had fixed our door. When I indicated it had not been repaired yet, he came to the house within a half an hour to assess the repair. The repair to our door was completed within an hour... He explained that he did other kinds of construction, and we will undoubtably be calling him back for more work around the property. Thank You.

Comments: BEWARE before you contract Orville Turnbell for any work. The most rude and threatening verbal abuse I have ever experienced in my 30 yrs of hiring contractors for my rental properties. He is not to be trusted and uses a strong Jamaican accent to initially explain the problem and what has to be done. Once the job is “done” the accent suddenly subsides as he explains how he is paid. Get it in writing by text and don’t let him tell you he hasn’t the time because he has other customers waiting. I do not recommend this contractor and will never work at any of my properties. No sense of humanity in customer care or concerns. There are much better and trusted contractors
because i ask you for my money after I use my money to buy material on complete your job then I ask how I am going to get paid you have a problem I can’t undersand how you could say these thing about me and dont even paid me for the job I did .
