Work Description: Retaining wall
Comments: I hired Myles Concrete in November last year, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. Here are the key issues:- **Slow Progress**: Despite paying over $60k upfront, there was little to no progress for the first six months. I had to involve the City of Belmont and his licensing board just to get him back to work. Myles frequently lied about being sick or blamed the weather for delays, but kept the money while neglecting the job. Even when his crew showed up, it was only part-time with 3-4 people, stretching a 2-3 month project into a year.
- **Failed Inspections**: Myles lacks the knowledge and skill to follow basic engineering plans. He also intentionally cut corners to save on materials, resulting in multiple failed inspections, costing me over $10k in additional fees. Inspectors and engineers were shocked by the level of incompetence, which further delayed the project due to necessary rework.
- **Safety Hazards**: He left large, exposed holes on the property, creating a hazardous environment and showing little regard for safety.
- **Property Damage**: Myles damaged various areas of my property—damage that could have easily been avoided with more care and responsibility.
- **Unprofessionalism**: He repeatedly lied about timelines, his availability, and even failed to pay his workers on time.
Myles doesn’t care about how long the project takes and will do whatever he wants once you’ve paid him in advance. Do not hire this guy especially if you have a big project. I strongly advise looking for a more reliable contractor.

Work Description: chimney take down to roof line/ patch hole in roof
Comments: I called and complained and am waiting for manager to return my call. I was not given a complete estimate of cost. I was told $1800 plus cost for closing roof would be available after attic check. Crew came 11/2 hours early and started without my permission. I observed some flying metal debris. WhenI asked for the cost to patch roof, he said he didn't know yet. After roof check, I was told "2". I asked $200?, the head guy said "no, $2000.00 additional". I refused and he eventually said $700. They left for 1 1/2 hours for lunch and to go to HomeDepot for roofing supplies. I paid a total $2,500.00. I feel ripped off as he wassn't honest upfront. Another example of ripping off a single older woman.-
