Comments: Rudy Brown DBA My AC Guy contracted to replace and install our air conditioner and furnace over 3 weeks ago. We've had Rudy service our existing units over the years and he offers a deal to replace all as he was allegedly having a slow period. What was peculiar about this experience is he required more than 50% up front in installments using Zelle. I was surprised by this request but it was stated these monies were needed to purchase all the appliances and necessary hardware ($4000). It just didn't feel right but we've had a good relationship with Rudy over the years. Well, my instincts were regrettably spot on. I sit here writing this complaint after Rudy failed to show at least 3 times, he's essentially "ghosted" us sending one line cryptic texts hours or days later...or not at all. We finally had to file formal complaints with the CA Contractors Licensing Board among other resources and suddenly, yesterday morning he appeared via text apologizing and offering to refund our $4000. (FYI - to date he never began any work nor did he deliver any items he allegedly purchased with our money). We may every attempt to give him a path to pay us back and alas...he went dark again and as of tonight, no response, no refund. I do not know what circumstances have fallen on Rudy but at this point he has secured our money vis electronic wire, he has not refund a single dollar, he appears for a moment in what appears to be a delay-tactic (he knows and acknowledges he owes us our money back), and we are going to pursue every angle to seek a remedy to ensure we receive a full refund. I'd strongly advise anyone considering using his services- something is amiss and we're not the first customer this has happened to. Be careful, do not pay upfront or prepay, and check his license status before contracting.A note to Rudy - we’ve been good and loyal customer of yours for years. You’ve taken our hard-earned money and failed to show multiple times with no notice or reason. You now have offered to refund our money a week after we had to spend time filing complaints. Do the right thing and refund our money like you agreed.

Comments: We worked with Ruddy two years ago for an AC install. We trusted him but this time around he has been unresponsive. He charged two thirds of the total, didn’t even provide the material and only installed a pipe leading to the upstairs room. We paid his what he asked since he said he would bring two guys to finish the job the following day. He didn’t show up and after multiple unanswered calls and texts he said he would finish. Over a month later and after promising to return multiple times, we’ve accepted he robbed us. We have filed a complaint and apparently his license was suspended in December of 2020. Please avoid working with this family. It’s a shame they are doing business in this manner.San Bernardino CA

Comments: Rudy was very exquisite in answering all of my questions and provided with the exact answers I wanted to hear and did not gave any BS about what equipment was better for me . He added exactly the brand that I wanted to be installed and the price was 1,600.00 less than the other 2 companies that I called for a quote. I strongly recommend My A/C Guy for all your a/ c needs.
