Comments: I requested quotes on Home advisor for repair of an exterior door frame and was contacted by McKinney. I again outlined the job and Mr McKinney set an appointment with me for an estimate. The day and time of the appointment came and went with Mr McKinney being a "no-show". He never called or texted to reschedule, or offer an explanation for not showing up. I texted and called him without any success. I can only assume he thinks his time is more important than mine. I don't appreciate waiting around for someone who doesn't show up or even call. If you don't want the job, don't set up an estimate and leave people waiting for someone who's not coming.Sevierville TN

In fact, we've already hired them again to build a shed and do indoor new construction closets/shelving. They are reasonably priced, very responsive, and their work is exceptional.

Comments: After McKinney got paid, he flat refused to do any more fixes. He has been unavailable by phone, email, or social media. My advice is to withhold more than the normal 15% until all your fixes are done. Establish a warranty period and give him his money only after he truly finishes the job. Also, keep a close eye on the project and look closely for shortcuts he has taken. If you can't identify the shortcuts, get an inspector before you pay.Seymour TN

Comments: McKinney replaced 8 windows as well as painted my vacation house. Hiring a contractor to do work on a house in another state from your primary residence is always challenging. They did an excellent job. I have been in the construction business for over 20 years, and John McKinney and his crew are some of the hardest working guys I have seen. They stated working on my house within two days of me making contact with them. I have more work for them to do in the future. I will be hiring them for all of my painting, construction, and cleaning needs.Sevierville TN
