Work Description: tried to fix a GE Advantium Oven.. Ripped me off for l09$ fee plus 182$

Comments: The man has no license, no workmans' comp and no bond. He does not tell you he is not a licensed electrician. He makes you believe he is.
He took on a job that he wanted to charge 500$. It consisted of putting larger nuts on a couple of wires in a junction box in the closet that connected the oven to the wiring in the house. He told me they come 90 $ each. I gave him l09$ because he said he would not even look at anything until I paid him his" appearance fee" so I paid him and he
looked at the junction box. Then he pulled out some impressive looking book that supposedly described what he had to do to fix the oven. told me he would normally charge 200$ but would give me the"family price" of 182. Wanted 1/3 rd down, so I gave him the l82.
At 3 Am when I woke up and thought about this whole thing, I knew I had been taken! He was going to buy the supplies and come back the next day. The nuts, those plastic things that you put over the end of wires cost 20$ for l00 of them, not 90 $ each. He claimed that those were "special" and different than what you can buy at Home Depot.
BS! This guy is a crook. I unfortunately didn't read his reviews on Yelp before I hired him. His MO is the same, he comes wants money before he looks at anything, then claims he needs to buy supplies and either doesn't come back or rips you off for more money. I called him and told him not to come back. I had the company that put in my kitchen in 2012 send their electrician> He had the oven fixed in l0 minutes.. and he didn't charge me a thing! The owner is a friend of mine. So stay away from this guy.
This negative review is incorrect and unfair. We did a minor service call to diagnose her non-functioning oven. We spent more than an hour at her place and found the cause was improper splicing of the power wires with inappropriate wire nuts. We also checked out her refrigerator power. For this we charged only $109. The other check for $182 was not cashed since she later said she wanted to cancel our service. The other electrician who fixed the splice in 10 minutes probably used the inappropriate wire nuts all over again.

Work Description: Never got quote that I paid for

Comments: I think it's a bit of a scam. They ask for $109 to do a quote. So I paid. Then a person came reviewed the work I wanted. He couldn't answer questions and didn't really about light fixtures and ac / windows. Anyway, I never heard back for weeks. I called. They didn't have the information and sent a person who said was the owner manager. He seemed to know his stuff. So I thought it was going well now. However, then I never heard from them again for weeks. I followed. I was told there was a family emergency and the second assessor is not there. They offered a third person to come to the full assessment again. I have to take time from work to show them and take them through everything. So I declined as if they need to send three separate people to do one quote. I don't want them doing the job. I asked for a refund since I never got any quote. Weeks later I haven't heard again. Scamming people for money for quotes and don't offer any actual work.

Comments: Los Gatos Electric sent Eric to locate and replace defective outlets and Los Gatos Electric did safety inspection in which various loose connections were found and tightened. Also there were defective outlets that were replaced. The electrician,Eric, was very personable and polite which made it a pleasant work experience. I highly recommend Los Gatos Electric. and wish them future success.

Comments: L.G. Electric came within an hour of my calling, diagnosed the problem, got electricity on. Presented me with a proposal for new electric panel as mine was old, dangerous, and would continue to have problems with electricity shutting off. After I decided to go ahead with the project , it was started the next day. Jim,the owner, explained all the steps along the way. He, his 3 workers, the office staff were all very competent, friendly and punctual. Everything was done on time with the least amount of inconvenience for me. I feel confident I can call them if any problem occurs or for any other electrical project.

Comments: Took 2 days , 5 hours , two electricians , $800 to diagnose and too K 5 minutes to fix a ‘short’. Very , very expensive. I am not sure they are incapable of trouble shooting or too good and too expensive to fix .
