Comments: Mr. Lester stated he’s been in home improvement and construction for 30 years. Well, his work is unprofessional, sloppy and he doesn’t supervise his workers. He does not take responsibility and do not follow county and state codes. The cement work he did was so bad I had to take it up and hire another company. I paid him which he refused to give me part of my money back. Homeowners do not hire him if you want the work to be done right. I truly regret hiring him for the job. I will see him in court!

Comments: Avoid Lester Thomas at all cost. He is a fraud and a scammer!!. I hired him to demo an existing bookshelf, and rebuilt a custom one. He assured me he understood the job, evening drawing a picture of what I wanted . I gave him a $900 dollar deposit, which he requested Zelle, however I gave him a check. . Upon arrival, he had no trash bags, nothing to cover my furnitures, and could not comprehend my intent for the bookshelf. The next day after my existing shelves were demo, he requested more money. I told him he was not even halfway complete with the job to request more money. He then told me it was his policy. I gave him an additional $500 dollar check. He still could not understand the project nor the non-speaking english worker he brought with him. I had someone speak to him to further explain the project, he then proceeded to say he would need more money. At this point more red flags were raised and I told him to just demo, sand and paint the area. I then proceeded to cancel the $500 check. Unfortunately the initial $900 dollars had already cleared. I informed him he needed to refund me $400 dollars as what he did was not worth $900 dollars. The job was very sloppy and was not sanded correctly , leaving my space full of bubbles on the wall . I sent him videos, and pictures, and he refused to accommodate my request for a refund. I will contact the BBB on him, as well as take him to small claims court. The cost to redo the sloppy work he did will cost me $400 dollars. I gave him five days to do the right thing and avoid bad review, and a court appearance to no avail. I am a retired Veterans on a fixed income , and can not afford to loss money as I did with Lester Thomas. Please do not trust or use him for anything.
This Customer was very complicated and couldn’t explain her project which was confusing the customer also got Money back to her project which was not to her satisfaction and start Threatening and to tarnish a good name.

Comments: Lester and his assistant did a marvelous job on cleaning the deck and the outside of the entire house. Every inch was washed with close proximity. The house/aluminum siding and the brick in the front looked so beautiful after cleaning. Thanks to both of them for the great job they did.

Comments: Mr. Lester Thomas is horrible. He was supposed to repair my mailbox (which had come off of the post due to a snow plow). He told me he was going to repair it so it's very secure using a clamp. This man put two holes in the back of the mailbox and stuck a simple clamp in there with two screws. It is an extremely poor job and the mailbox is totally unstable less than 2 weeks later. He also charged me $150 to do this!! Outrageous. When I reached back out to him about 2 weeks after the job to say that the mailbox repair was not well done and the mailbox is going to fall, he said he will charge me at least another $75 to come back!! This man is a scammer and doesn't know what he's doing. By the way, the clamp he installed is bright silver and he told me he was going to paint that black to at least match the mailbox - he did not do it!! When I asked him about that, he said he doesn't have the paint?? Totally ridiculous. DO NOT HIRE HIM.

Comments: I thought he had experience installing sump pumps, but apparently he didn't. I paid him $800 for the installation. He asked for $300 up front and I gave him $350 before he started the work. The next day he arrived without tools to dig the foor of the basement to make a hole. He told me he needed a jackhammer. I told him he had to have his tools for the job. After many arguments, I told him I was canceling the contract. He then told me he would give me back $250 of the $350 advance I had given him. Then I told him I would rent a jackhammer. Even to make a hole in the wall, he had no tools for that. Me and the guy he hired for the job made the hole with my tools. He also wanted me to rent a water pump. I told him you were digging a hole in my basement and if it flooded you were responsible. Then he ran to Homedepot to get one because he didn't want to continue that day and the water was coming steadily everywhere in the hole. I have to empty the water out of the hole before he brings the pump. I have to smooth the floor around the pump basin myself because he did a poor job after the installation was complete. He kept shouting. I've never had a contractor like him. I don't recommend anyone hire this guy to install a sump pump.

I requested a quote from Lester Thomas construction, on line. Mr Thomas called me within a few hours, on Sunday morning. He agreed to come over on Monday morning. We negotiated the price for his labor, as I would purchase the box and post. My new box and post were installed by noon. Lester did a great job and we agreed to keep it contact as acquaintances.

Comments: If there was a negative review option, I would give it. I gave him $100 just to hold the date for the work, and I changed my mind about him. I felt bad for changing my mind so I tried to get him for power-washing but his asking price was crazy. This was august 2022. He told me he will give me the $100 back. I reached out a few times requesting my refund and he told me he will give to to me by December 2022.It’s almost May of 2023 It’s been 8 months and I still didn’t get the money back. He took $400 from my uncle and never did the job or give him a refund. I’m not sure what the positive reviews here are, but I would run from him like a plague.

Comments: Lester is a good person but he does not know how to install a hot water heater according to DC code. He made several mistakes and I now have to find someone else to fix them. I do not like it at all when I hire some to do work for me and they create problems instead of solving them. To be fair, he did install the hwh so there is hot water, but I spent more on him than I would have a professional plumber. He was available when I needed him. But I’m not sure that he sacrificed since it seemed he was available at the time anyhow. You can’t mess around with plumbing; it has to be done correctly. He was not cheap.

On replaceing my two storm doors,, he had to make
2 trips. On the front door, it would only open about 2 feet wide,
I had to squeeze to get in and out of the house. He cut my
rear door with a saw, and now there is a 3 inch gap at the top
of the door....The price he charged me to do the doors was
high, but at that time I had no choice. As for the kitchen faculet
the unit was not secured, when my wife moved the handle
to turn the water on, everything moved and water leaked. NO
I am not happy with Mr Lester work and will not call him
again.....
