Comments: It’s very rare I leave poor reviews for companies but my experience with Lando was such a nightmare I’m hoping another person can avoid making the same mistake I did! I chose them for their all 5 star reviews which I now believe are mostly friends and family. My own project manager left a 5 star review right after my project ended which he has since deleted.The project initially started well, the tile installer was fantastic and meticulous, my praise ends with him. When ordering a window I requested frosted glass and was told “Of course, it’s for a bathroom!” It was installed and was not frosted. Their “solution” was to put window cling on it, which they installed incorrectly. I had them come back to fix it and he assured me they “watched a few videos on how to do it.” If that doesn’t inspire confidence I don’t know what does! They left scratches in the glass on my storm door, denied doing it and refused to fix it, saying that they couldn’t find any replacement glass but they would install more window cling which I declined. When I requested my medicine cabinet be recessed they wanted another $800 so it was installed as is. There were panels to cover the hardware on the sides which they threw in the trash and I had to dig out and put heavy books on them to flatten them because they got bent.
They showed me a picture of the bathroom flooring which was one color and I approved. What was actually installed was quite different from what I was shown. Four very different shades all patchworked together. They were taken out and more uniform colors put in but they were installed incorrectly with gaps and cracks, (which they tried to cover with a wider baseboard.) There are permanent scuffs and marks in the flooring, and the tub caulk had to be redone three times. My only consolation is I sold my home so I don’t have to look at all the mistakes every day.
The final straw however, was that I had an inflatable mattress with a heavy thick foam pad on top of it, when I went take off the foam pad and deflate the mattress underneath, I found a nasty surprise. There was a puddle of urine under the pad and on top of the mattress. So someone had pulled back the pad and urinated on my mattress. Since the only people with keys to my home were myself and my realtor and Lando, I could only conclude it was Lando. My realtor would have no reason to do such a thing and I could sense that there was annoyance from Lando as I kept having them come out to fix their many mistakes. I felt extremely violated, disgusted, upset, it was outrageous. My project manager came out to look at it with the construction manager and the construction manager was so incredibly disrespectful, accused me of doing it, gaslighted me, yelled at me, I couldn’t believe it. I felt so uncomfortable in my home alone with him, he became so verbally aggressive I asked them to get out of my home and give me their key. When I tried to call the company and ask to speak to someone besides him, I was told by 3 different people he is the head of the company and there was no one else in charge I could speak to. They all then stopped taking my phone calls or responding to messages, it took over a month to get my final bill. This was by far the worst, most unprofessional company I’ve ever worked with, I urge you to stay far away!
