Work Description: approximately 1100 square foot addition
Comments: This contractor had a very poor record of attending to subcontractors and showing up on site. Many many times we were left to deal with the subcontractors. In addition, the contractor ordered materials that were, according to the contract, to be determined by the owner. Many simple things were done wrong, for example the concrete pad was not square, the wrong window frames were installed and a double door on a south facing exgerior wll leaked and continues to leak despite his half-hearted attempts to fix it. When something was amiss and he was available, he never took responsiblity and was either first to blame someone else or the owner. I remember so clearly his resonse to the incorrect window frame. He said, "that's what they gave me"! Be very suspect of this contractor and engage with caution.Vail AZ

Work Description: Detached garage construction
Comments: It was over 420 days ago (1 year 3 months) that I was tricked into believing Kenneth Gordon Roberts owner of KR Building & Design LLC would have the skill & ability to build my 1035 square foot detached garage per the plans he was provided. This individual constructed my garage with such disregard for the engineered plans that he allowed his sub contractors to do what they wanted. He provided almost no oversite as the general contractor. From the beginning, I have had to manage this project and point out gross negligence. To include, failing to provide the proper foundation for the building, non compacted soil., improper footers and the wrong concrete strength. He made me deal with his subcontractors when I had a complaint instead of him speaking with them about their shortcuts or subpar work. Most recently, he was required to allow me to identify areas on the property where compaction tests would be performed. He organized testers to come out and perform the tests areas he picked without me knowing when they would be here. Despite our written agreement that specified the homeowner would identify the test locations. Additionally, he has informed me that he will not be fulfilling our signed written agreement to deliver & spread 10 tons of decorative rock. When I called him out on this, he called me a "fucking ass hole" in an email reply. He is all about collecting payment and moving on to the next victim. If you challenge him, he will have a minimum of 3 excuses he can give you. He takes no responsibility for what has transpired. It should be noted, this is a simple detached garage. Months after he started my project, out my back window, I have watched competent and capable contractors clear 4.5 acres, and construct numerous 2,100+ sqft homes that people are now living in. Here I am today, stuck with a never ending fight to get what was agreed to in a written agreement.
