Comments: they stopped the leak but damaged other areas of the roof while working. their work didnt last 5 days. i told them that the wind would blow off the connection between the old shingles and the new because you could see it wasnt smooth. they left loose, hanging, broken shingles.12k and they put up a black shingle when they came out to fix their own damage. at least 6 different employees walked around on top of the roof so no way to tell who damaged it or put the black shingle up there. we are an elderly, retired couple. we feel afraid that they will come back and jump the fence again and do what they want to our house. we even tipped the workers and tried to be polite. but the fact is, we didnt have one problem with shingles before we gave them 12k. the original problem was the poor connection between the patio and the roof. also, after they tore unagreed upon shingles off the roof, they didnt have the new shingles in stock so it rained and damaged the wooden beams inside the house. since i wrote this, they probably wont honor their warrantee for the new part. but its all true. we took pictures and let them know that rain/wind was on the way. they were nice at first, but once they got paid, they didn't want to hear about blown off broken shingles.Los Angeles CA

Two guys show up, measure my roof, tell me what they're going to do in the process of replacing it. That's fine; we've already gotten four other bids and the scope of work is all pretty much the same.BUT, here's where it gets sleazy: rather than having a printout of everything they're going to do to our roof,(which is pretty standard for ANY roof replacement) the guy writes it all out BY HAND, ON A YELLOW LEGAL PAD while we stand out in the heat (it was 97 that day!) and his co-conspirator shows us forms and pictures and shingle samples. THEN #1 guy gets on the phone with (who?) someone, "scheduler" maybe. We already told them we're not in a hurry. I couldn't hear all that was going on in this the conversation THOUGH HE WAS ON SPEAKER PHONE but we were out on the street at rush hour. He tells us they have another job nearby and if we will agree to start work within the next four business days they can combine the debris hauling, dump fee, truck fee and save us basically a third of what the whole job would cost. BTW, the "original price" was DOUBLE what the lowest bid we got was. Basically, we were being squeezed to decide RIGHT NOW to get an overpriced roof. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I'm going to complain to the licensing board and consumer protection consumer protection bureau. STAY AWAY!!!! They will waste your time AND your money.
Note another review here stating that they used to be called Reliable Roofing that got such bad reviews that they changed their name. There is still a Reliable out there but fortunately I didn't waste my time with them.
BUYER BEWARE!!! YOU'RE ENTITLED TO A HARD COPY CONTRACT AND TO LOOK IT OVER IN YOUR OWN TIME. Stay safe, grandma; it's YOUR money!!

Comments: Where do I even start? These guys wear you down. Frankie and David make you feel like family. 3-4 hours with us in our home. Frankie making calls trying to make things happen while David connects with you and builds rapport. These guys worked us like a formula. These guys are good man. I just cant believe I was almost about to get scammed out of $41,000 which they made me feel amazing about because they brought that price down so much from what was $57,000. Yeah this included work on the front to repair the stucco but its still a scam for that amount. I have a one story 850 sq foot house mind you. I don't even know what to say, there were so many things that were suspicious about these guys. They said they were in the business for 20 years so how is it they barely have any reviews anywhere? Ill tell you why. I don't know if this was true but when I described these guys to the other roofing company who came to give me an estimate they said they heard of these guys. They were called Reliable Roofing and their service was so bad they rebranded to Journey Roofing and Construction. So they are new which is why there are no reviews. To get the price down Frankie said he would merge another job for demo with mine but they would have to come the next day to do it. They put me in a difficult spot because they even compared other estimates to theirs and they said they are right in the middle because no one wants too cheap or too expensive but this was my first estimate so I had no idea what to expect of an estimate. After speaking with the other roofing representative (Dove Roofing and Construction) they also told me they don't even start work till they get the permit so he found it very suspicious that they would start demo when a permit hasn't even been applied for. The roofing rep from Dove told me they wouldn't start on my roof until they got the permit because if they do a demo without a permit and the city finds out I could be without a roof for over a month till the permit goes through. He also told me they wanted to start demo because once they touch my roof the 3 day cancellation becomes void and I would have to pay cancellation fees. That's why they wanted to start so soon. I am telling you man these guys played me. Frankie said I am going to paint some spots that need work on your roof and take a sample of your roof to to see the nails underneath. Look at those pictures! look what they left me with. Then to cancel I had to relinquish all their liability with how they left my roof for a damn estimate! I got screwed! don't get played by them. These guys are crooks... the worst part is I really liked them. They were very warm and charismatic people. The made me feel like part of the Journey family... what a shame... now I am getting my roof done for $13,000. people... GET ESTIMATES! DONT SETTLE!Granada Hills CA
