Work Description: exterior painting

Comments: I am currently trying to get my money back from Louis Furby. He did not complete a job to paint the outside of my house. He promised to repay the money that I sent to him for the project. When he was not able to complete it I told him I needed my money back which he agreed. This happened in Oct. 2023 and I still have not received my money. I had to begin court proceedings and he did not respond to the court order. I am a very disappointed and frustrated customer.

Comments: Here is my experience with Louis Furby, the registered owner of Iron Clad Painting

I contracted Louis Furby to paint my home. I didn't really know him, but our wives were friends. I gave him a $1900 deposit to start the job. For THREE MONTHS, he kept rescheduling the job because he had so much work. I eventually grew tired and cancelled the job. When I asked for my deposit back, he said he didn't have it all because of child support obligations. Being aware of his situation and trying to be understanding, I agreed to allow him to make payments to refund the deposit. He said he would pay $200 per week. This became an exercise in frustration, as he never made two consecutive payments on time. It took him more than a year to repay $1420. He then spent a couple of months avoiding me, but when I was finally able to reach him, he promised to repay the difference the following week. I tried to give him an incentive to follow through by telling him that if he came through as promised, I would accept $400 and call it even. On the day he was supposed to pay me, he came back again with the stories about his child support and asked if I would allow him to do a small painting job to settle the difference. Against my better judgement, I agreed to this. He was supposed to paint an upstairs hallway and half bath, and I would be responsible for purchasing the paint and supplies. On the day of the job, he didn't show up. He eventually texted and said he would have to reschedule for the following week. Again, he failed to show up, saying he needed to reschedule because he was completing another job. As you might have already guessed, he didn't show up on that day either. At this point, I'm left with having to file a civil suit if I have any real hope of getting my money. I am telling all of my neighbors to avoid doing business with Louis Furby or Iron Clad Painting, LLC. I promise you, you will save yourself a HUGE headache.
