Work Description: Home Remodel for Rental Property
Comments: I hired Jimmon Howard, owner of DCT Contracting for a complete home remodel (8 week project) in Cuero, Texas. I hired Jimmon as I personally have known him and his entire family since childhood. I signed his contract in FEBRUARY and made the payments he required. He started off right away by doing a partial demo and leaving all big bulk trash/items of the kitchen, bathroom, old rotted sheetrock etc IN THE YARD until I fired him in JUNE. He abandoned the project for a few weeks then COVID hit. He had to take off another month for personal reasons. He then returned to the job in mid APRIL (after I called him) with promises to continue working. He pretty much abandoned the project again until I had to fire him in JUNE. The only work that he actually did do was tore down the porch and shabbily rebuilt it, barely scraped the popcorn off portions of the ceiling, removed some old sheetrock, and cut a huge hole in the floor of the living room. Jimmon never purchased any appliances and items for the kitchen/bathroom which he received money to do. Also another major problem I encountered was strangely, the city never received Jimmon's completed General Contractor application, proof of insurance/bond, or contractor's payment fee of $100. Jimmon doesn't seem to be knowledgeable about complying with city building codes, permits, and mandatory inspections that the city requires. This can result in the city building inspector giving the property owner additional fines to pay. Jimmon CUT OFF ALL communication and refused to refund my money. I had to notify the bank's FRAUD DEPARTMENT who reversed the entire payment after I submitted evidence on the claim. Bottom line, he appears to have no work ethic, horrible communication/customer service skills, and will scam you out of your money! Luckily, I was able to find a legit contractor to take over the job. The property looks so amazing now!!!San Antonio TX

Comments: Jay did an awesome job on replacing the dry wall on my ceiling in my den. I would recommend Jay and DCT to anyone who should need work. Jay is one of the nicest contractors that I have had the pleasure of hiring. I truly trusted him with his work and in my home. Enough so that I would leave for hours on end and not worry about anything. Looking to using Jay in the future on future projects on which as Jay knows. I have many with this fixer upper.
