Work Description: Renovation
Comments: Over 150K paid to Gilchrist Investments and Jeremy GilchristPlumbing – work had to be reworked because it was not to code costing us an additional $7500.
Electric: Multiple electrical violations with the city held up project. Upon further inspections, electrical work was done incorrectly and has cost us over $3000 to correct.
Abandoned job leaving more than 60% of work unfinished that was already paid for. These items and more were listed on invoices and our original work list attached to the contract.
HDLC window in back house left incomplete
Rotten wood not replaced, siding and appropriate sealant not finished
Untreated lumber used on parts of exterior of both houses left exposed
Insulation not installed in both houses
New windows incorrectly installed/broken
All molding not installed
Six HDLC windows not installed in Front House, in addition that one of the windows was ordered that was the incorrect size
Did not complete foundation work on front house leaving a back room disconnected from sills
Did not install flooring or drywall in front house
Did not repair porch flooring in both houses
Did not install ridge venting in front house roof
Did not install gutters on either house
Front doors not installed in front house
Brick fireplaces not repaired and filled in
No exterior or interior painting done
The termite contract was not completed
One star is generous
Stated we ran out of money, which is not true, we completed the job when he abandoned the project.

Work Description: Build a camel back addition
Comments: This man is a complete baffoon, Jeremy Gilchrist of Mandeville , LA and his construction company Gilchist investments, LLC hires illegal workers from home depot parking lots. They showed up to a construction site and had to borrow a hammer.Do not do business with JEREMY GILCHRIST he is not capable of building your house or a bird house. Non of his builders speak English. He never looked at the Architectural plans because he doesn't know what they mean. He built all the walls to the wrong height on two occasions. Jeremy never used the proper equipment to see where the old construction was even level. His workers never used a level or square. Jeremy Gilchrist did not use the right materials, for instance he made headers with 2x 10's, rather than code 2 x 12's for a two story house, he also used treated lumber for headers. The construction was so shotty and would never pass code and a new contractor had to remove what was left standing after Jeremy Gilchrist's second building team cut all the walls over two feet short. None of his builders even brought a pencil or a square to the site and made all cuts over their knees without marking a straight line.
He took the money and ran and I will see him in court.
Sure- hire him! This can't possibly be true. Not a man who calls himself a Christian and has a name Like Gilchrist. Really though, his true company is essential oils. I'd call him a snake oil salesman.
