Work Description: Avoid at all cost!!!

Comments: I truly regret having Floor Masters install my new luxury vinyl plank. I read in another review that they give a discount to Duke staff. My boyfriend and I both work for Duke and we were denied the discount. We were told that they are not giving that discount during the pandemic. We started the whole process of getting new floors with Allen. Allen came to our house and measured and made recommendations. He was knowledgeable, friendly, communicative, and trustworthy. We decided on the floors that we wanted and paid the 50% deposit.

A few days before my new floors were to be installed someone called me from Floor Masters and asked if I needed someone to come out to the house to bring floor samples and measure for flooring. I was shocked as I'd already paid them thousands of dollars for floors that were supposed to be installed soon!! The man on the phone assured me that my floors would still be installed but there was a lack of communication because they fired Allen!!! I wish I could have gotten a refund at that point because Allen was the only reason I chose Floor Masters. The man on the phone assured me that Marcus would take over my account and I would be in good hands with Marcus. Wrong!! Marcus told one lie after the other. He even told me that the instillation team would put some sort of crack sealer on my concrete sub flooring. They did not.

Thank God I was home the day the floors were installed!!! I was working upstairs trying to stay out of the way of the guys removing the old floors downstairs. Luckily I went downstairs only to discover that they had removed the old wood floors and they were preparing to lay the luxury vinyl plank directly on top of a huge puddle of water in my living room!!! I asked them about the water and they said it was condensation. It was a huge puddle!! I told them I needed to find out where the water was coming from before they could lay the new floors. They left and I contacted a plumber. The dishwasher had been leaking under the old floors. I shudder to think what would have happened to my new floors if I hadn't been home to stop them from installing brand new floors over a puddle!!! I bought a new dishwasher and the flooring team came back to install the new floors. They left uncovered nail holes in all of the quarter round and told me that's what any flooring company would do and that I will have to have the interior of my house repainted now. They left a crack in the flooring in a major walkway at a threshold. I asked them to fix that while they were still working and they refused. They said it would be'okay'. There are pieces of the floor that seem to be floating and they move when they are stepped on. They said that was normal and expected. When they left that loaded tons of unused materials in the work van and Marcus wanted to charge me for unused materials. Now the crack in the floor in the high traffic threshold is lifted and people are tripping over it. Marcus absolutely refuses to return any of my emails and nobody answers the phone when I call the store. I wish Allen still worked there!! He was wonderful! Marcus and his instillation crew and their shoddy work are all horrible!! For the thousands of dollars I spent I expected that the floors would be installed professionally and that this would not have been the nightmare that it has been. I hope the owner sees this revamp will at least reach out to me to have the tripping hazard repaired. Please please please do not do business with this company.

Comments: Floor Masters did a very good job. They installed new laminate flooring on 3 bedrooms on short noticed. Later, they replaced the reducers with customized ones, when I notified that the ones that had been installed, although set up according to accepted standards, were not too my satisfaction.

Comments: This contractor Floor Masters reaches out very fast . I am pleased from their response and have an appointment to evaluate job. I'll update after that.
