Description: Daniel's Custom Landscape Design, Hardscape and Installation has been providing high end quality exterior services to their clientele in and around the Hampton Roads area for 28 years. We pride ourselves in custom quality work in a timely manner. Some of the other services provide are pavers for driveways, walkways and patios and burn pits. We do not cut grass.

Comments: He did not complete the job. The City had to take over. Daniel told me that he would refund my money in May 2023 of $4750 and here it is October 17, 2023 and he has not refunded my money yet. He deserves jail time for fraud!!Chesapeake VA

Work Description: He was to install a brick paver patio in my backyard.
Comments: WORST CONTRACTOR EVER!!! DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!!! I contracted with him in APRIL 2023 to install a brick paver patio in my backyard. He said he could do it in one day, May 15, 2023. Day of, he was a NO CALL NO SHOW. Long story short, he took my deposit of $1600, worked a couple of hours and left my backyard dug up and a muddy mess with a huge pile of dirt. He agreed to refund me in AUGUST, 2023 and now is UNRESPONSIVE. He has been taken to court multiple times for taking people's money (check the court websites) and not doing the work and always has excuses. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!!Norfolk VA

Comments: So very disappointed. Paid in full and now we are going to have to pay again to have another company come in and fix the mess. Unlevel, didn't put the proper base down, pavers cut and fit into tiny pieces, or areas filled in with dirt to cover up the fact that there wasn't even a paver added. I've asked multiple times for a copy of business license and insurance without success. We learned a very valuable lesson. Guys that he had on his crew worked hard but had no guidance on how to do the job. Daniel was only here when we called and called. My husband even took off two days of work to try and monitor the job. What a mess.Suffolk VA

Work Description: Build & level a pad for a shed to sit on
Comments: don't bother. Ever! This is the jamokes idea of a "good job". I paid the man to come build me a frame and fill it with gravel for a shed. He didn't show up with a square, he mixed the two types of gravel that were supposed to be originally one on top of another, he didn't use the weed mat that he promised on half of the job and he failed to do a whole other part of the job that I paid him for. (To be fair he did eventually send a guy back to finish after we texted to complain about the work). Icing on the cake, he didn't clean up after himself because he didn't have the tools to do so. Plus he helped himself to one of our deck chairs, BROKE IT AND PUT IT BACK without saying a word. I would've much rather given $1300 to my 12-year-old and a couple of his friends.Save the pain, don't ever hire this company.

Work Description: Re-sodding front lawn.
Comments: Daniel responded quickly to my request for an estimate, coming to our home and giving us a very competitive bid, and even told us how to work with what we had if we decided to reseed the lawn ourselves. The sod arrived as expected, the old yard was removed and fresh new sod laid in 1 day. The 2 workmen paid attention to detail and did a lovely job ! Comments: **Please Please** do yourself a favor and DO NOT hire this man to do any yard work. Unfortunately, my husband and I learned the hard way and now have a yard that is not even close to what it should be considering the money we spent and in fact we will need to spend more money to have the problems fixed.1. Patio pavers they installed are unlevel and not graded properly for drainage.
2. Topsoil they put down prior to laying sod was never leveled nor was it packed down, so we have a VERY uneven half dead lawn.
3. Sod sat in my driveway for 2-days drying out before they came to install. Daniel gave us several excuses as to why they didn’t arrive to install sod the day it was delivered.
4. Improper or lack of proper equipment to do any yard work. I mean who shows up to a job to spread soil without a wheelbarrow.
5. 3-weeks to install pavers for a 14’x25’ patio. They dumped a pile of sand outside my sliding glass door that sat there for weeks making it inaccessible to go in and out that door. We were told that the pavers were on back-order. So, my question was why didn’t you know the pavers were on back order prior to dumping the sand??? Or how about the fact that we gave you a ½ down deposit a month in advance. Money that should have been used to order the pavers so the job could have been completed correctly and in a timely manner.
6. Lack of communication!!!
They would schedule a day and time to be at my house and never show up or call. And when they did show they were very disorganized and didn’t have the proper tools to do the job at hand.
7. Oh, and I saved the best for last!
We were told it would take 3 pallets of sod to cover our backyard when in fact it only took 2 ¼ pallets. What happened to the left-over sod you ask, his crew loaded into their truck. Sod that we paid for they took and it’s all on video.
I’m not a person that normally writes reviews, but I felt an obligation to do so in hopes to spare anyone else from having to go through the expensive and heartbreak that my husband and I have experience with this company. We, like most people work very hard to have nice things, and its just heartbreaking that someone can take advantage of another person in this manner

Work Description: Cut down one tall maple tree and remove all debris. Grind stump.
Comments: Daniel's Landscaping was ill prepared for the size of the project. He quit with the job half completed. No clean up. No phone call nor any explanation. Poor service. Do not recommend for any work.
