Work Description: Replace Fan motor
Comments: So i begin with the fact my A/C went out on a Sunday..of course, And due to the fact that this was the company that put my unit in brand new back in 2009..that i figured my best bet would be to contact them. So the tech comes out Sunday( which was awesome) told me the problem..and said he would have some one back out at 8 a.m. to replace the fan motor. I got up, And waited and waited till about 9:45 before i got a call saying they were on there way and would be at my home by 10:30.. I thought GREAT! Even tho they were suppose to be here at 8:00.. So once again i sat and waited and about 11:20 they showed up..no biggie as i was just happy to see them beings that at this point it was already 90 degrees out and the sun was blazing! So the tech comes with part in hand, puts it on and the unit is still not working..so since my uncle that lives in anther state has a A/C company..i walked away from the Tech and called to ask my uncle what it may be that would make the NEW FAN MOTOR not kick on.. I was about 8 ft away from the Tech that was trying to figure out what the issue was, And my uncle had just answered the phone and i had got about as far as..Hey Uncle, the A/C company is here and he's replaced the fan motor but for some reason its not kicking on, what may cause this to happen? Then, the Tech turns around, looks at me with a nasty look on his face and says.. I don't need you hovering over me calling one of your people about AC work, I know what I'm doing and don't need to listen to your advice from your family member!.. I then say to him..sir first of all im 10 ft away from you..and i am merely reaching out to my uncle and asking him his opinion on why the fan motor won't kick on! He then tells me that he knows how to do his job and doesnt need any assistance..i repond by saying..sir, i was calling my uncle outta curiosity because I didn't want to bother you and ask you why the fan motor wasn't coming on so I decided to reach out to someone who's been doing a /c's for 45 years, and by no means was it to make you feel like you were incompetent... So he then turns back around..mumbling something under his breath..and i walk away and go inside my home. At this time my uncle says to me..Did i just hear that guy talk to you the way he did? And i said, YES YOU DID! So after thinking about how unprofessional he was..and rude i decided to write this review.. I am not one of those folks that nit pics and has nothing better to do then write crappy reviews about business's but after having this situation happen..i felt it was important to do so. I have not called the higher up's at COOL CONCEPT'S as i feel like nothing will probably be done about this guy's crappy attitude and reviews are looked at by 100's of people. So my point of taking the time to write this..is to let folks know that the way i was dealt with was totally disrespectful and rude... especially for someone who just shelled out $500 to this company. You think that they would teach their tech's to have a little bit better customer service abilities!!Punta Gorda FL

Work Description: Central A/C - Install/Replace
Comments: He committed to the job, we arranged pickup of our unit and an installation date. It was pushed back a day or two and on the day it was supposed to be installed he never called us. We finally got in touch with via phone and he said he didn't want to do the job. Very unprofessional and really left us in a bind. Do not recommendPort Charlotte FL

Work Description: Installation of new Ruud central air conditioner
Comments: Our Recommendation Regarding COOL Concepts Heating & Cooling represented by the owner, Steve BalcombYou have heard the expression that “if Mom is not happy, then nobody is happy.” I have my wife and her live-in 103-year-old mother to keep happy. On a recent Friday, my wife discovered that she had to reset the thermostat on our central air conditioner several times to keep the house at 80 degrees for the benefit of my wife’s mother. When the temperature in the house reached 85 degrees, she called the situation to my attention. Upon investigating, I discovered that the air conditioner compressor was extremely hot and was not operating. I decided to call for help for our air conditioning system. I called a friend who is a retired air conditioning technician. He was hoping, after applying cool water to the outside of the compressor, it would be cooled off and would operate again. He ran some tests and said everything else was good, so he concluded that maybe if the compressor didn’t start after it was cold, the old compressor needed to be replaced. Since the compressor did not respond after several attempts to get it to “kick in”, we decided that I would keep the air conditioner off for the rest of the evening and try to get it to activate Saturday morning. When the air compressor did not respond the next morning, I put a request on the computer for air conditioning assistance. It wasn’t very long that same morning that I got a telephone call from Steve Balcomb who volunteered to come to look at my situation. He ran numerous checks on the air conditioner to make certain the problem was the compressor. He also concluded that the compressor had outlived its almost 28 years of operation. Now the problem was, should we try to find a replacement compressor; but, then if we installed a new or used compressor, what if another part had to be replaced soon thereafter. I decided that it was time to get a new air conditioner because if I died, then my wife would be faced with the problem. I didn’t want her to have to contend with that situation. So, Steve Balcomb said he could get me a new Ruud air conditioner and have his crew install it in one day. My wife agreed that if the Ruud brand had served us successfully for that long, we should use that brand again.
Bright and early Monday morning, Steve came and made preparations for his crew who arrived a short time later. The new air conditioner was completely installed before the end of the day and they had cleaned up the scene so nicely a person would not know anyone had been here except a brand new air conditioner and related equipment replaced the old.
We are so very grateful for Steve and his crew: Luke and Clayton. They all were prompt, courteous, industrious, and respectful toward us and our home and property. (And nobody fell through the ceiling!!!)

Work Description: Replaced AC and ducting. Added additional ducts.
Comments: I had two units that were inop. One serviced the main portion of my house and the other, an ancient package unit, sat atop and serviced a large enclosed lanai. I wanted to find a way to cool both areas with a single unit. Steve was the only guy (out of probably eight who looked at the job) who thought the idea was viable and was willing to tackle the project. His guys pulled all of the metal ductwork out of my attic and replaced it with flex ducting; they added two new vents to improve the coverage inside the house while Steve engineered four new drops into the covered lanai and tied them to the new system. They entire job was complicated by the extremely low pitch of my roof and the tiny attic space they had to work with. The estimate was more than reasonable. The crew showed when scheduled and cleaned up as they went. Every guy on the crew was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. We are thrilled with the end result. You owe it to yourself to let these guys bid your job!Cape Coral FL
