Comments: While Mr. Lillard did give us the lowest quote to do the work, it was far from a value. He did not complete all the services requested. The services he did complete were, for the most part, not done to our satisfaction. (The one thing he did a decent job at was seeding a portion of our front yard.) While he did weed and mulch, he did not replace the landscape fabric as requested. We didn't find that out until after the work was completed (and he had been paid). He said he used a potent weed killer that was guaranteed for up to 2 years ("up to" being the operative words) instead of replacing the fabric. The weeds were back within a week. He refuses to come back to fix his mistakes and has been evasive.Fredericksburg VA

Comments: Worst contracted ever. Ignored requests to finish job . Started power washing and did horrible job and then tells me he basically finished. Had another contractor look at job and he just laughed and walked away ,shaking head. Trees he cut done he left trunks and other debris in yard foralmost 8 weeks even after repeated attempts to get him to remove his mess. Finally had to pay someone else to re everything he left and ignored all my attempts to get him to do so. Network should really look into who you hire out to customers like me . I have all texts between me and company showing what transpired. Work Description: Took advantage of a widow!
Comments: I am I’m not even sure how to start this, my father passes suddenly, leaving my mother with a house that needed work in order to sell; Mike was one of the vendors she touched base with to get estimates on yard work. While there, and after hearing of her circumstance she was given the entire comforting story that he was I. A similar situation and would love to take care of her, shoot he would even do it at a discounted rate because he felt so bad for her. He would even throw in some repairs and some free flowers for her flower beds, again because he felt just so bad for my mom. It all seemed to good to be true, but the prices were unmatched as he was going to do it as side work, as “favor” to help her save money….. many many stories of his charitable acts, how he was in this to help people, the full works……. The first concern was when the driveway patches my MOTHER did herself looked 5x better than the work Mike had done, she chalked it up to him rushing as he was working on his off time and that his specialties were more hearses toward landscaping, rather than driveway repair. The she started telling us everytime he was supposed to show up, something would happen, something would come up, he could only do about an hours worth of work and had to leave. The serious concerns came when he started to fix the deck, mind you we had another vendor all setup for repair an MIKE said no, he could take the stringers off, replace the treads and paint/stain for less than the others wanted for JUST the stringers….. again to help my grieving mother. He constantly kept asking her to front money for work that wasn’t completed and finally when we arrived to assist and review, I had a conversation with Mike about the deck, that I am a quality control inspector in another city and quite frankly the deck looked bad, had loose railings and there was NO WAY it could meet code / pass an inspection …… this man ACTUALLY SAID TO ME that he never said it would pass code, and that Mom never asked for it to pass code, she just wanted it to “look better”!!!!!!! I explained to him that I am sure he would not allow his mother to pay for this and I could not, in good Conscience allow mine to pay either. I asked him to commons I TW with me directly from now on and that I needed a day to confer with my family on how we wish to move forward, I was literally again asked if we could front more money for that parts that were “ALMOST” done and said no again. Later, when we communicated that we no longer required his services other then the weekly mowing that was required and paid a month in advance, he continued to ignore my request and message my mother, when asked repeatedly to speak directly with me. We asked for him to come get his tools and remove his things from the yard as we now have to pay for someone to repair the work he messed up and then do it all correctly ….. he continues to message my mother against our direction and to this day he never grabbed his tools / ladder after multiple requests for him to do so, he never mowed the pre-paid lawn mowings, he never finished the jobs he said we’re already done….. not only is this man a blatant liar who takes advantage of a recent, grieving widow, but he is also just plainly bad at his job and talks too much, bragging about what a good person he is to the point of feeling held hostage with constant nonsensical rants, he seems way in over his head in skill and clearly over promises and under delivers, his license should be revoked.Alexandria VA

Comments: Alert! Alert! Michael Lillard will constantly change the name of his company so that you don't see the reviews. He is now scamming people under the name Clear Solutions Land Management! See my previous review for A1 Outdoor Services. This is the same person scamming under a new name.We have fired A1 Outdoor Services and are hiring a new contractor to complete the work.
We contracted for A1 Outdoor Services to do three jobs:
· bush hog a certain area, which included removing small trees and bushes, killing all vegetation, leveling and reseeding.
· Power wash and stain our backyard fence
· Rebuild a vegetable garden, removing two existing galvanized garden containers, leveling, placing a weed protector under the surface, replacing the containers and building a fence. leveling the garden.
He has been paid two thirds of the price thus far, and none of the work is anywhere near complete. He charged $1700 for "supplies" and told us he would show us how much the supplies cost. When asking how a couple of 5-gallon containers of stain, plus a few wooden boards and metals posts add up to $1700, he said I must pay for the cost of running his machines. He has only used a bush hog machine for about a few hours, a power washer, which used my water, and an amateur staining gun. How this equates to $1700 in materials is beyond me.
It has more been 5 weeks now, and we have:
· A bush hogged area which has not been leveled, weed and vegetation not killed and no overseeding, for which we paid him for the entire cost.
· A power washed fence, which was only approximately three quarters done. The stain was not applied thick enough to saturate the areas he completed, so that he could save money from the $1700 for "supplies" we paid him. He showed up initially with one 5-gallon stain for a fence which he told us would need 3 5-gallon containers, skimping on the supplies.
· The garden has only the wooden posts up, no metal wire fencing installed, the containers have not been moved to place the weed protection down, nor a gate installed. He stated he would not move the galvanized raised gardens contains to place the weed protection because it was not in writing, and he was doing me a "favor". He was paid two thirds of this price already. The fence is clearly not uniform, as clearly the back of the fence and front where the gate is to go are not the same width. Yet he stated the fence was "mostly complete".
He also offered to cut down 4 trees and replace them in our front yard for free. Yeah right! He can't even do the work he was paid for, yet alone give something for "free". I told him to forget his freebies and get this job done.
I am unable to get my sprinkler installed until he finishes the vegetable garden, which will have sprinklers running under it. When I asked that he complete my vegetable garden first, he told me I do not get to choose what I want completed first.
Time after time, he chooses to come when he wants, cancels, reschedules....it goes on and on. He showed up yesterday to "complete" the job after 12 pm. He brings his wife and kids. The kids are running all over my back yard and up the steps of my deck. Very professional....
When I told him I wanted him gone and would hire another contractor to complete the job he told me to shove the remaining amount due to him up my "butt".
It is interesting that I read THREE other reviews on Home Advisor and Networx about taking customer's money and not finishing the job. Sounds like a pattern to me. I would absolutely not recommend this man for any job you have! He claims to have all these "employees" and equipment, yet his excuses have been that all of his employees quit and his machine broke down. I have yet to see an employee!
Before I end this review, I must say, if you choose to hire him, GET EVERY LITTLE DETAIL IN WRITING!!!! HE HAS BACKED OUT OF CERTAIN SPECIFICATIONS FOR MY GARDEN BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT SPECIFIED IN THE CONTRACT, yet he had agreed to perform certain tasks.
He is a scammer, who talks a good game, with nothing to back it up and no results. Save yourself time and money, DO NOT HIRE THIS CONTRACTOR!!
