Work Description: Deck, Walkway, and Pavers
Comments: Champion installed a deck and pavers around an above ground pool at our home. Immediately after the install we complained because 1) the pavers were not installed based on the design that was agreed upon 2) the workers completely dismantled the pool pump and left it disassembled 3) most importantly, we advised that it did not appear that the area around the pool was stabilized sufficiently with gravel. There is still a large pile of gravel leftover from the install in our driveway. The pavers entirely collapsed. They started separating and shifting and eventually completely collapsed. The area under the deck collapsed as well. The company claims they are not responsible. Although the large pile of gravel leftover confirms that all the gravel was not used. They blamed the rain; they blamed the soil; they blamed the pool supports. All of these things were present during the assessment of the area. If it was not suitable for supporting pavers, we should have been informed. To say all of this after the fact indicates that the company wanted to make the sale at all costs without regard to what was best for the customer. This all happened less than 3 months after the completion of the installation.Baltimore MD
