Comments: Bobby Odum very professionally solved my issues. His crew arrived a little earlier than anticipated while I was at a Dental Appointment. By the time I arrived, they had very efficiently fixed my issue in spite of the fact my wife was not proficient in explaining the problem. They were able to deduce the issue based on my phone description and a little detective work on their part. In solving my issue, they discovered a GFCI was wired incorrectly (had been since we bought the house in 2004)! They promptly fixed it! I had NO idea that there was an underlying problem that was unknown. I dread to think what "could have been" if the GFCI had malfunctioned at a time when it really mattered to save a life! Thanks guys! I'm telling you straight up; if you're looking for an electrician that can be trusted to do the work properly and at a fair price, please do yourself a favor and call Mr. Bobby Odum of BJ Electrical & Design. I'm very glad that I did! Thanks again guys! Great work...efficient...priced right...respectful of property and very polite! Comments: From my experience, Bobby is a great electrician who offers electrical service with professionalism, honesty, and integrity. Here is how my experience went - after listening attentively and patiently on the phone to my description of the circuit breaker problem, he asked me if any other electrical works he could do for me besides the circuit breaker fix because he would not feel good to charge me for $150 (a charge for a service call) just for the 5-minutes job (he said that he is not that greedy). After I told him no other electrical works requiring his service in the house, he said that he would not charge me for the new circuit breaker. What an honest service man! I sent him the pictures of the electrical panel showing the problem circuit breaker for him to look for the replacement circuit breaker. After looking thru the pictures, he called me again and wanted to see if the problem could be fixed by myself via a reset, what a person doing business with integrity! I told him that the problem couldn’t be fixed by the reset. So, he went on looking for a very special circuit breaker (3/4” width 15/15 amps tandem circuit breaker). Unfortunately, he couldn’t find the part and didn’t come to fix the problem. In the end, I told him that even though he didn’t fix the problem for me, but I know who to call for a trust service next time. I could not imagine who would not!Westland MI

Work Description: I needed an emergency transfer switch for a portable generator installed, one outside outlet moved to the back wall, and another outlet added.
Comments: Couldn't be happier. Parts took a long time to acquire (not Bobby's issue), and dealing with Livonia Inspectors can be a challenge. Once the parts arrived and the project cleared, Bobby took about 1/2 day to complete all that work. To his credit, the Livonia inspectors passed his work the very first time. Livonia is well known to be very picky on final inspections. If you need electrical work done (and you want it done right), you've found the right contractor.Ann Arbor MI

Work Description: Put in electrical outlets, lights and heating elements in basement.
Comments: Work was adequately done; however his idea to put 8 landing strip wattage lights in a small basement space was ridiculous. It was extremely bright and we had no way of dimming it. We requested lower wattage lights and dimmers for which we were charged extra - more than expected. He also did a sloppy job of trimming the metal supports around the ceiling tiles where the heaters were installed. Overall the work would have been just okay except that he highly recommended his long time buddy, John, to do the dry wall, trim and ceiling tiles. John's work was sloppy and at times destructive. We kept finding mistakes and damaged things long after the job was done. We had to re-do a lot of his work. Bobby should not be recommending him as it makes his work look bad.Canton MI
