Work Description: Concrete

Comments: It started out well. Brian was prompt to the estimate and in providing me one. They were prompt to amend the quote when I decided to add more prior to approval and contract. It was downhill from there. I accepted the quote, signed the contract, and paid half down ($5,600). Silence from there for days until I reached out via this app and text. They then finally told me the next steps and schedule. This was June 26th. July 13th, they arrived and began. We walked the job for the estimate and walked it again before they began that day. Seemed pretty straightforward to everyone involved what was to be done and expected with the concrete, garden, existing grass, fence, and sprinklers/drip system. I was told 2 days for this project. 1st day, they tore up my sprinkler wire and a line and tried to bury it even after I reported it to the business since Brian wasn't there. Brian and Cyairra had to come by that night because it was clear they didn't communicate the project to their people. They destroyed a sprinkler line, the sprinkler wire, didn't dig deep enough in the back yard and were prepping to pour with all those issues all in the 1st visit. (Sprinklers are still an issue) Poured the concrete, and it came out terrible. None of it was flat. It was wavy and gravely. There were gaps in it where water would have gotten into, and their lines were a mess. The concrete step they attached to my deck was not attached. I could see the ground where the step should have attached. It clearly slipped to my house, foundation, and ac unit. I immediately expressed my concerns and, after a large delay, was texted back to find out that Brian had left for a trip. I waited for them to return so they could see the work done. They came, and Brian stated they got a bad mix from the truck, and that must have been the cause for the terrible quality. So, basically he left town and his team made a bad decision and told him later or... they told him, and it was done anyway. Either way, client satisfaction and quality were not a concern by he or his team. His own employees stated it should all come out and that it was spread with it was too dry, but Brian wanted to ask the advice of a 40-year vet of the industry. A week later, he advises me he'd like to put some sort of top coat to it. He researched it and wanted to give a 5 year warranty for it chipping or coming apart. By this time, I had my own advice given by several people within the industry advising it be removed and redone, but I wanted to be understanding and patient and agreed I would try this with them. I asked for his promise on paper which took him weeks to provide. This top coat they applied failed in 12 hours. He stated he'd come see, he didn't. He sent cyairra instead. Her and I talked, and I expressed my concerns. I could see she felt that this was all not going to work and stated she'd talk to Brian and let me know. This us all while Brian had tried to reassure me that this coating could only be applied in 1/2" layers, and they were to return. A week later, I asked what the plan was, and he finally responded, asking for full payment, claiming the job is done and done well, and stating I'd have to pay more for further work. I now have concrete that is uneven, cracking, his bandaid is failing (one which he stated I'd have a 5 year warranty for and failed within 12 hours), slopes to the house, foundation and ac unit, chipping, cracking, hand prints that are not ours in the concrete, a flooded yard due to sprinkler issues never resolved and concrete bits all over my house and window. I do have a half fence they installed. Took them 2 tries since the pickets they installed didn't actually stand straight up (still don't). His contract states it won't slope to the house. It does. It states there was to be a final walk through with the client. We never did that. He abandoned the project. He broke his own contract. And clearly has no intention of rectifying the situation. Quality and care is NOT something B&B provides. He is now ignoring me. I have entirely too many pictures of the poor quality.
edit: negative reviews sparked him to finally reach out. he claims all the coating he applied was "good faith" and "cosmetic only" despite the contract HE wrote up stated that the pad would slope AWAY from my house. His warranty he offered on this, has already started to fail and he refuses to do more so now he is breaking the subsequent contract he made for warranty. So, now he has neither finished nor is he fulfilling his warranty. he received all of the money and his "solution" is to remove it and be done with me. No offer of refund. So, he wants me to accept having paid everything for nothing except a crooked picket fence OR to finish it only after I remove my reviews (which then leaves me having to worry about the next 5 years of warranty on a product he is already failing to warranty). The sloped areas are now caked in coating. Just waiting for it to inevitably Crack like all the rest of it has so water can get underneath it and have water issues with my home, garage and ac unit.
I've had 3 businesses come out and with no context immediately apologized as they immediately saw the issues. I showed them the pictures. I received mixed emotions from them laughing hysterically to pure empathy to this whole ordeal. all 3 stated it wasn't done correctly, wouldn't last and that the coating was the wrong thing to do. All 3 were appalled at the work and that he took money for it instead of ripping it out and doing it over or giving me my money back.
His business partner also threatened me with legal action based on having providing reviews of business and resorted to name calling when I refused to remove my reviews.
I don't doubt that Brian and his crew can do good work, but they definitely messed up my project. Brian also blamed his employee, Gerardo for the sloping to my house. Stating that because he's a bigger, heavier set guy, he caused the drastic sloping to me house. Real professional.

Work Description: Wood Fence Install

Comments: They came to my place and fixed our gate and a broken panel. They did a great job. They told we what they planned to do and did exactly what they said they would do. The work was completed the same day. Both workers were very courteous and professional. I would have given them an excellent, had they communicated with me about when they were coming to do the work.
