Work Description: a/c repair
Comments: Incompetent and Dishonest. MaxAir sent a technician out when our A/C stopped working. The technician said there was not adequate electrical power coming into the air handler. He said he couldn't do anything until the electrical problem was corrected. I paid a $100 service call for an electrician to come out. The electrician found that there was no problem with the electrical. He said that the MaxAir rep did not know how to read the voltage. After I found out that the electrical was OK, I called another company and they replaced a transformer on the air handler for less than $200 and the unit works fine.. I called Jason and told him the story and asked him to reimburse my $79 service call fee since his technician was wrong and actually cost me an extra $100 for an electrician to come out. Jason was defensive at first and then begrudgingly agreed to refund my $79. I told him he should also pay the $100 for the electrician since I had to pay for a call that was not needed. He would not agree to pay for the electrician. He said I should have called them back and they would have come back out. Considering them misdiagnosing the problem, I did not want them to come back out. I gave him my address so he could send the $79 for the service call. The money never came. I have texted him several times asking if he is going to send the money and he will not respond. I know it is the correct number. The purpose of this post is to warn people that MaxAir has technicians that are not properly trained and that they are dishonest and will not do what they say they will do. I don't NEED the money, but they NEED to pay it since I was charged for a wrong diagnosis that ended up costing me another $100.Arlington TN
