Work Description: Heater repair
Comments: I was looking for an accredited professional contractor for my heater through websites like Home Advisor and Thumbtack. I received a call from a man named Anthony. I thought he was from one of the companies on one of these websites, but he was not. He told me that I would be charged $85 for an estimate. Later, I found out that his company was supposed to give free estimates.When Anthony came and checked my heater he told us that the problem was actually the thermostat. Although I had just bought one from con Edison, he said that it was not compatible and that it required a two-wire one. He said he was going to charge $550. Then he asked about the thermostat, and I told him I got it with a rebate for $50. He told me he would buy it for the $50 and charge me $500 flat. Unfortunately, I had to go to an appointment, so I left. My 33-year-old daughter stayed in my place. She told me that not only did he charge $545, but he also hit on her after I left, asking is she would hang out with her and telling her to call him. I think that was very unprofessional. Also, according to my daughter, he spent a lot of time talking on the phone with other potential customers, and he was charging by the hour. I also think that I was overcharged because he only had to replace a thermostat.

Work Description: The scheduled arrival was to be between 3-6 pm. They arrived at 8 pm. The actual work performed was good. Although I asked for an estimate, they charged $150 because tools were taken out of their van. The total charge for the job was $600. I later got a more extensive job done for half the price charged by these people. Will never use them again.
