You might think that American-made tools have totally disappeared from the market. Big manufacturers like Black and Decker and Sears have shipped labor overseas, and many medium-sized American tool manufacturers have outsourced parts of their assembly lines. Here are a few holdouts who are still taking advantage of high quality American labor and supplies. This list is not exhaustive. Hand Tools

• Mil3: Made in Apex, NC. Manufactures Pex tools. They're best known for their ring crimping tools.
• Loggerhead Tools: Made in Illinois. Manufactures some of the best wrenches on the market, including the Bionic Wrench.
• Saf-T-Lite: Made in Bluffton, IN by General Manufacturing. Manufactures commercial and industrial lights.

Power Tools

• Powermatic : Made in LaVergne, TN. Manufactures drill presses, band saws, lathes, planers, and table saws.
• Mi-T-M: Made in Peosta, IA. Manufactures pressure washers, vacuums, air compressors, and power saws.
• Shop Vac : Made in Williamsport, PA . Manufactures industrial and residential wet-dry vacuums.

Garden Tools

• Briggs & Stratton: Based in WI, with plants in AL, MO, KY, GA, TN, and NY. Manufactures lawnmowers and snowblowers.
• Union Tools: Made in Columbus, OH. Manufactures shovels, rakes, hoes, pitchforks, diggers, scoops, wheelbarrows, snow shovels, and snow pushers.

Painting Tools

• ArroWorthy: Headquarters in West Babylon, NY, and manufactured in 4 US cities. Manufactures professional and semi-pro roller covers and paint brushes.
• Corona Brushes: Manufactured in Tampa, FL. Manufactures high quality paint brushes, roller frames, roller covers, and painting accessories.
• Purdy Professional Painting Tools: Innovative paint applicators, manufactured in Cleveland, OH.
• Wooster Brush Company: Made in Wooster, OH. Manufactures 2700 products for professionals and do-it-yourselfers, including roller covers, roller frames, and trim tools.

• Marathon Water Heaters: Made in Eagan, MN by Rheem. Manufactures a long-lasting, ultra-efficient electric water heater.
• Warmboard Radiant Heat: Made in Aptos, CA. Manufactures structural subfloor thermodynamic radiant heat panels.
