Five Absolutely Adorable Garden Cottages

For those lucky enough to have a little patch of land to call their own, a garden is a must; and you'd be amazed by how much you can fit even into a very small space. Even better, though, is a sprawling cottage garden surrouding a beautiful home with at least one charming outbuilding that might serve as a workspace, private getaway, guest house, potting shed, or spot for children to call their own.

Some Hometalk users have come up with really stunning garden cottages, and we sifted through them to take a look at some of the best.

Photo: Debbie M/HometalkThis sweet little cottage in Hazleton, PA actually has a usable loft space! Very fairyland, very cute, and also very practical. Much of it was built from recycled materials, making it a low-income and low-impact project. And yes, those flowerboxes by the windows are real.

Photo: Pamela Groppe/HometalkThis is a gorgeous cottage garden (Pamela Groppe, the blogger, loves foxgloves). And that sweet yellow cottage makes for a practical and serene studio.

Photo: B.J. B/HometalkMirabella and Isadora are lucky grandkids! This delightful cottage in Lexington, Michigan was built just for them, and it honestly looks more structurally sound than some houses I've been in. The landscaping is going to age beautifully with this super-cool house, and I hope it's enjoyed by generations to come in their family.

Photo: Tanya Peterson Felsheim/HometalkThis potting shed in Oregon is both well-organized and homey. A gardener who takes pride in her workspace is a beautiful thing to see, and it's clear that Tanya had a lot of fun with her cottage redo!

Photo: Lynn at shabby story/HometalkIt's hard to go wrong with classic white. Clean, beautiful, crisp, and that perfect blend of new and old. Lynn's garden cottage went up over the course of nine weekends and integrates numerous recycled materials, showing you how crafty carpenters can save money even on a big project!

Do these have you longing to redo your funky shed or build a garden cottage of your own? Itching to contact Charlotte roofers to talk about a classic Southern-style tin roof (as seen above) or thinking about integrating some gorgeous Victorian-style trim into your new play space?
