The Chicken That Lays Square Eggs
There's a lot of suspicious news in the works this April Fool's Day morning, but I'm pretty sure this one has to be real: Britain's ITV is reporting from a farm in Suffolk where hens are producing square eggs!
The farmer claims the shape makes the production of egg sammies a breeze, and I'd argue it could revolutionize packing and transport for these infamously fragile products. Can researchers narrow down the genes involved and get going with a generation of new and improved chickens?
Of course, ITV could be pulling our legs, but just in case, I'm going to call a San Francisco carpenter and talk about expanding the chicken coop.
